EDGE FINISHES: PRECISION DETAIL FOR EVERY BUILD

Choosing the right edge finish is the final touch that defines your instrument's character, whether you’re chasing a specific vintage era or a sleek modern aesthetic. At bespokeguitarparts.com, we offer five distinct edge profiles to ensure your custom parts perfectly complement your guitar's design.

Explore our video demonstrations below to see how each finish interacts with different materials:

  • 45-Degree Bevel: The industry standard for layered materials like 3-ply or 5-ply. This classic angle creates a clean, uniform look that highlights the contrasting middle layers.

  • 65-Degree Bevel: A steeper, more vintage-inspired cut. By exposing more of the interior ply, this wider bevel makes the contrasting middle layers much more prominent, capturing a truly authentic retro feel.

  • Rounded (Roundover): Ideal for single-ply materials like bakelite or certain acrylics where a sharp bevel isn't used. This finish takes the sharp edge off, providing a smooth, pleasing curve that is both comfortable for the player and aesthetically soft.

  • Top Edge Bevel: A specialized profile that focuses the angle strictly on the upper surface of the pickguard. This is perfect for those who want a softer transition between the pickguard and the guitar body without a full side bevel.

  • Straight Edge (90-Degree): A simple right-angle finish that is historically accurate for early vintage Fender designs. It is also the go-to choice for metal parts or any material where a standard bevel might not be suitable.

Pro Tip: Not sure which to choose? The 45-degree is our bestseller for modern builds, while the 65-degree is the go-to for that authentic '60s restoration.
